SMI Volunteers Help Transform Hospice Spaces for Patients and Families

At SMI, supporting our local community is an important part of who we are. As part of our ongoing commitment to our Charity of the Year, The Countess of Brecknock Hospice, members of the SMI team recently took part in a volunteering day to help redecorate patient bedrooms at the hospice. Working alongside volunteers from other local organisations, our team dedicated their time and energy to refreshing several rooms used by patients and their families. The project involved painting and decorating living spaces to create a more welcoming, comfortable environment for those receiving specialist care and support.

Making a Meaningful Difference

The Countess of Brecknock Hospice plays a vital role in supporting individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses, providing compassionate care at some of life’s most challenging moments. Through initiatives such as our cable stripping fundraising challenge and other community activities, SMI has proudly supported the hospice throughout the year. This volunteering day offered another opportunity for colleagues to contribute directly to the hospice’s mission. By giving their time and practical skills, the team helped create spaces that bring comfort, dignity and reassurance to patients and their loved ones.

Whether participating in fundraising events, community initiatives or charity challenges, our people consistently demonstrate their commitment to making a positive impact.
