We’re back at SubSea Expo – and we’d love to see you!
Two years ago, we were privileged enough to be chosen as the SubSea Expo Company of the Year. It’s been a super eventful two years for SMI since then, but what hasn’t changed is the basis of what that award was about. We’ve worked hard, we’ve innovated, and we feel like we’ve improved the industry for the better. We couldn’t be happier; we know that the industry is on the march forwards and will help represent the UK’s chops when it comes to innovation, industry, and renewable energy.
We are excited to have shared news that we are working with Proteus Tidal on a tidal energy deployment in Japan – meaning our technology, manufactured in Andover, has travelled about as far as it can from Hampshire. We’ve also won the Women in Defence UK Most Improved Charter Signatory Award – demonstrating our commitment to ensuring that our business is diverse, and opportunities are equal for everyone that steps through our doors and onto our shopfloor and our offices.
We’ve even had a visit from the First Sea Lord, Admiral Ben Key, in his capacity as Patron of the Women in Defence UK Charter – a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase our work for the Royal Navy, British innovation and engineering, as well as demonstrating the real value that a diverse workforce brings to businesses.
This year, we have our Business Development Managers, Rowland Wright and Aaron Priest, on the floor ready and raring to meet you all. For them as much as all the other attendees, the show remains an incredible opportunity for leading businesses in varied parts of the industry to explore and discuss what opportunities lie ahead on this amazing sector – as well as how to exploit them.
For SMI, we have huge amount of experience in the subsea sector. We have an over 30-year heritage in the space. Our ethos of getting fit and forget, sustainability in our products, and material innovation has set us in good stead in an industry where a failure – no matter how small – can be catastrophic.
